Overview

The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Tamil Nadu, has released the TNTET 2025 notification for Paper I (Classes I–V) and Paper II (Classes VI–VIII). Eligible candidates can apply online from 11th August 2025 to 8th September 2025. This eligibility test is mandatory for candidates aspiring to become teachers in government and aided schools in Tamil Nadu.

Age Limit

  • Minimum: 18 years (as on 01.07.2025)
  • Maximum: No upper age limit

Educational Qualification

For Paper-I (Classes I–V):

  • Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • Higher Secondary with 45% marks + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (NCTE norms) OR
  • Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed OR
  • Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 2-year Diploma in Special Education
  • Relaxation: 5% for SC, SC(A), ST, BC, BC(M), MBC/DNC & PwD

For Paper-II (Classes VI–VIII):

  • Graduation + 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR
  • Graduation with 50% marks + B.Ed. OR
  • Graduation with 45% marks + B.Ed. (NCTE norms) OR
  • Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 4-year B.El.Ed OR
  • Higher Secondary with 50% marks + 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed OR
  • Graduation with 50% marks + B.Ed. (Special Education)
  • Relaxation: 5% for reserved categories

Application Fee

  • General Candidates: ₹600/- per paper
  • SC/SCA/ST/PwD: ₹300/- per paper
  • Mode: Online only (Net Banking/Credit/Debit Card)
